Parade

One of West Pittston’s favorite traditions is the Cherry Blossom Parade. This parade marks the official start of the Festival.

Parade Route

The parade begins on Exeter Avenue in front of Blue Ribbon Dairy. It proceeds down Exeter Ave and makes a hard right at the intersection of Exeter Avenue and Wyoming Avenue. It moves down Wyoming Avenue to the intersection of Philadelphia Avenue and Wyoming Avenue, where it turns left. It proceeds to Susquehanna Avenue where it turns left into the Festival grounds.

The parade is comprised of various community groups:

  • West Pittston Little League
  • Wyoming Area Drama Club
  • Wyoming Area Marching Band
  • West Pittston Borough Police Department
  • West Pittston Hose Company
  • Exeter Borough Police and Fire Departments

One float in the parade also carries the contestants for the Little Miss Cherry Blossom contest.
